My custom chart, using Federal Housing Finance data, gives you a true estimate of just how much your home value has gone up over the years. Well more than we expected when we bought it.
Forty-six percent of ALL HOMES today have more than 50% equity. These numbers also consider the years 2008-2012 where we gave back about 23% to price depreciation. These estimates are designed to provide you with a solid starting point of what your home is worth based on the year you bought. Factors such as current renovations or add-ons may increase the value even more. I do utilize tools that calculate the potential increase based on specific renovations you have completed to ensure we are selling at the best price of the day. If you purchased your home before 2003, the gains are even greater. The earliest source data shows if you purchased a home in Westchester County back in 1975, your estimate gains are 1,376%.
